Berkeley Earth was created to address potential biases in the land surface temperature record. We now plan to expand our scientific investigations of the nature of climate change, to initiate a major education and communications program to strengthen the credibility of scientific communications on climate science, and provide objective analysis of greenhouse gas mitigation methods in developing as well as developed economies.
We are working to lower the barriers to entry into climate science. Not only do we post our papers, memos, and other analysis online, we also post our data and our analysis code to provide an open platform for further analysis.
Berkeley Earth took a data-driven approach to temperature analysis (using five times more data than other groups), and we are now taking a data-driven approach to other areas of energy and climate science.
